Investigating the connection between spousal distress and changes in pro-inflammatory gene expression, 38 adults (aged 40-81) had their spouse relive a distressing personal memory, assessing mood pre- and post-event, collecting blood samples at baseline and twice post-task, additionally including the sharing of their personal upsetting memories and the discussion of marital problems in between. Spouses who conveyed upsetting memories with intense emotional displays in those whose memories were recalled saw a corresponding rise in pro-inflammatory gene expression during the 30-40 and 80-90 minute periods after the task. In conjunction with this, no attention has been given in the literature review to the environmental regulatory factor, which contributes to the economic disparity between the northern and southern regions. Based on the balanced panel data of 285 Chinese cities between 2004 and 2019, the study formulates a benchmark regression model and a non-linear regression model to examine how environmental regulations contribute to the widening economic gap between the north and south of China. Findings suggest that environmental regulations play a significant role in diminishing the economic disparity between the northern and southern parts of the country. Ultimately, the varied characteristics of urban environments result in marked disparities in the placement and form of the positive U-shaped curve that connects environmental regulations with China's north-south economic divide. The inflection point level of the U-shaped curve in the North, as determined from the test results, surpasses that of the South. The study proposes a regionally-tailored approach to environmental policy adjustments, accompanied by increased financial resources for enhancing regulatory tools and coordinated governance across the North and South regions to facilitate sustainable development, improve quality of life, and eventually achieve shared prosperity.

A critical hurdle in estimating air pollution's effect is the task of accurately and cleanly determining its unwatched impact, given the endogeneity. Combining global satellite monitoring data with unique micro-household survey data, we are attempting to generate an instrumental variable to measure the net impact of air pollution on Chinese household energy expenses. A marked and positive link exists between rising air pollution and the expenditure on household energy. Pivotal checks have not undermined the strength of the findings. A potential mechanism underlying the energy-related consequences of air pollution on household energy expenditures is the avoidance of staying at home. Stay-at-home tendencies are more prevalent among well-educated, high-income, urban residents of southern China.
